| I had gone with
some college friends of mine to watch them get there tongues pierced.
When they came out they couldn't talk, but this story isn't about
them it's about me and my friend Nick. I saw the girls get pierced
and thought, I've gotta get that done. I had wanted to get my tongue
pierced for a long time and I finally got the balls to go get it done.
I convinced Nick in about 2 seconds to go with me and get his done
too. The next day we walk into the piercing shop, my stomach is in
knots and I decide to go first and it's a good thing. I get up in
the chair, the piercer pulls out my tongue, dries it off, sanitizes
it tells me to take a deep breath and blow out. A cold sensation went
throughout my mouth and it was done!! I then went and sat on the couch
outside the piercing floor and my friend Nick, sat in the hot seat.
There is a lesson to be learned from this story because the piercers
next words to my friend would be worth enough to avoid all kinds of
pain and torture. The piercer said, "When I put the body jewelry
in, it's gonna pop as the threads from the barbell go through your
tongue...So DON'T FLINCH!!" Well, my friend barely moved his
tongue and the barbell go stuck. The piercer pushed and pushed, flipped
Nick's tongue over to see what the problem was. Pushed some more and
then I noticed Nick's hand began to shake from the pain. Finally he
just took the end of the needle and cut a little slit for the jewelry
to drop through. The piercer said he could see the end of the barbell
through the piercing and all it needed was a little help. Once we
walked out of the shop, Nick told me he was about 2 seconds away from
telling him to just take it out and forget it!! So the lesson of this
story is don't flinch when you're told not to!! |
