Frequently
asked Body Piercing and Body Jewelry Questions
Here are some questions we
get asked all the time and we thought it would be good to share them with
the rest of our viewing audience. If you have question, drop us an
email
and we'll answer them.
Does it hurt to
get pierced?
How long will it take to heal?
How do I tell if a shop is clean?
Will your body jewelry give me an infection?
Should I take it easy after I get pierced?
When can I change the jewelry I got pierced with?
| Does
it hurt? |
| Well, first of all it's
a needle piercing your body so yes!!! Depending on your level pain
tolerance it's usually not too bad. The needle only goes in for a
second or two and before you know it it's over. The build up to getting
pierced is usually so intense that people think it's going to be worse
than it really is. Top |

| How
do I tell if a shop is clean? |
Pretty much just use common
sense, if it doesn't look clean, then it's probably not. If the piercer
isn't wearing gloves when he pierces people don't get pierced by him.
You're letting someone have direct access to an area of your body
that could potentially carry all kinds of pathogens inside of you.
If you don't feel comfortable then don't get pierced. Ask questions,
make sure they give you a good experience. Part of the piercing process
is the experience and if someone isn't willing to make it a good one
for you, then they're probably not someone that you'd want to get
pierced by.

| Will
your body jewelry give me an infection? |
Most likely if you get
an infection it's not from our jewelry, if you take care of your piercing
and clean it regularly our jewelry will remain benign. Most body jewelry
that causes infections have higher levels of nickel, which our jewelry
does not. We make sure that all the jewelry we carry is high quality
surgical steel and other high quality gold, titanium and niobium.

| Should
I take it easy after I get pierced? |
Of course...you have a
new hole in your body. You should treat it accordingly. In other words,
don't go out and mud wrestle after you get your belly button pierced.
(Ladies, I'm looking in your direction!!!) Take care of your "wound",
clean it like as directed by your piercer and you should be fine.
Also, if the person that pierced you didn't tell you how to clean
it CALL THEM AND FIND OUT !!! Unless you like getting infections,
you'll need that info.

| When
can I change the jewelry I got pierced with? |
It all depends on how
fast your body heals. If you can move your body jewelry around with
no pain, then, your good to go. You should still be really careful
though so that you don't rip the piercing and reopen it.
